how will i support you during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum?

I support mom with information and offer emotional support during pregnancy. I spend my time during your pregnancy, helping mom and dad both learn about pregnancy and birth. I do this through prenatal consultations/appointments and teaching about labor processes and techniques. We will discuss birth plans and options as well as intervention options.

During labor, I will meet you at your house during early labor if you wish, or at the birthing location later on. Whatever you are most comfortable with at the time. I will be there to support your partner as they offer comfort measures, breathing support, physical and emotional support. I will offer breaks to your partner and suggest different positions and techniques to try, always with the support and advice from your care provider.

In postpartum, I meet with you and your partner to discuss how baby is feeding and sleeping, how mom is doing eating, sleeping and recovering. We will talk about your birth (if you desire) and at this time I can also provide any postpartum care hours that have been purchased, such as laundry or grocery shopping support.
